A 19 year old is legally an adult, a 14 year old is still a child (legally, physically, mentally/emotionally). Adults need to do adult things with other adults (traditionally dating is what leads to marriage, which leads to reproduction - you don't want to do that with a child). Children should not be worrying about dating (other than casual - hey let's all go to the movies and hang out).
It is not illegal to date a 14-year-old! It is the next step that gets you into trouble! It is best to avoid even the appearance of an impropriety when it comes to "CHILDREN" so as not run afoul of people who want to look out for the child and view with suspicion older people dating children.
Well it would be the same as that 14 year old dating a 9 year old. You want to babysit your date? Unfortunately most 19 year old these days are already sexually active and that's just way too early for a 14 year old. The other big problem here is that they have very little in common at this age. Also there is something terribly wrong with the 19 year old and needs to get some mental help immediately!
because if your 14 your still just a kid and if your 19 your legally an adult and it would sometimes lead to marriage if your are dating someone and a 14 year old just wouldn't be mature enough plus it would just be wrong!
As long ad there is NO SEX and or making out your good. Movies and hangtime is okay, kicking it at the arcade keeping in mind she is still a young girl and not to be taken advantage of. If you can't do that get yourself a grown up
Every youth is different and people mature and become independent at different speeds. The laws regarding Statutory Rape vary the age of consent from state to state. The age is really arbitrary, but it's the best way for a state to make children safe from a legal standpoint.
The laws are in place because of the ease an adult can have in coercing (tricking and/or forcing) a minor into a sexual relationship. Many minors are in a position where they can't say "no" to an adult's sexual advances and still be safe. So Stautory Rape laws say "no" for them. Even if the minor claims they want the relationship, he/she is legally not able to consent to having sex with an adult and the law makes it illegal for the adult to have sex with the minor. If the adult breaks the law, they can and will do a lot of jail time.
