How long does it take to dry apples in the sun.

My grandmother use to dry apples on a table in her back yard when I was a kid.I was wondering how long it took and do they cover them at nite are bring them in.

...Oh,Yuk...Flies!...Why don't you just put them in the oven, on the Lowest Temperature you can...I think we use 175-180 degrees.You can Flip them over after awhile to check for dehydration.We Dry ours this way, and they keep a Very long time.Wstie.

Sun drying is rather difficult because you need three to four sunny days of at least 100 degrees in a row. You should also keep in mind that dried apples lose their crunchiness.
