How does the internet know the answer to everything we type in, who puts this stuff up

People have been putting information on the Internet for years and when you use a browser (google, Firefox, safari etc...) it just searches all the information that people put up using key words and tags. So if you type in "Labrador" then it will come up with sites that use that word and pictures that are tagged with that word.

The internet has some editable pages that have been updated on various articles hence each question gets a field allocation easily. The answers are either put up by the administration of the websites or the authorized members of the specific websites.
