What Would Cause This? Please Read Below...

When I Lay on my back, when going to sleep I actually stop breathing...it happens everytime I do this...I wake up gasping for air...and one time I actually felt myself stop breathing...It does this also when I sit on a loveseat and try to nap...Why?

If you stop breathing when you go to sleep and lay on your back, then you are having sleep disorder. This kind of sleep apnea is known as obstructive sleep apnea. It affects throat muscles. lol...Doctors scare me...I heal myself...was just wondering what would cause this..Doctors are Money grubbin test after expensive test people...I just sleep on my side now anyway....But Thank You for your answer...:)

If you stop breathing you should go to the ER ASAP!!!!!

ya maybe a doctor...I am a believer of self healing though...I got some good info on here...Thank you for your answer

Your welcome but if your "self healing" doesnt work out its important you see a doctor cuz thats a serious health problem and is nothing to take easily.

You have sleep apnea. This is when your tongue falls back in your throat and you can't breathe for a moment. People with sleep apnea usually also snore up a storm. You might be doing this every minute or so, all night long. If you are, you are not sleeping well, and left untreated, it can lead to heart problems. You should see your doctor for information on this condition, asap.

Well as everyone has said, of course, visit a doctor. But, also, you may have sleep apneia (I know, thats spelled wrong).

You probably have sleep apnea and you really need to see a doctor as soon as possible.

Sounds like sleep apnea. You really should talk ti your doctor.
