What type of wood do they use for bowling alley lanes?
Bowling lanes are made from a variety of different woods. Some used commonly are: maple, pine, and cherry. I've never noticed how much care went into building a bowling lane until now.
I just saw this on the History Channel last night ( you can see the entire story, www.history.com )The lanes are made of Pine and Maple. The pins are made of Maples.
Now days it's probably particle board with veneer on top.
