If any of you here are doctors, please read the details, thanks!

I have astio condromas (i think that's how you spell it) and every time I lay on my left side I get really bad chest pains. could it possibly be that a bone growth is poking something important when I lay on that side and causes the pain? i've been do doctors before, but never had a chest x-ray. could this be the problem?

You probably have a costal osteochondroma that has grown in your chest cavity. Osteochondromas that are small as a canalope are capable of exhibiting the symptom you've described and it should be visible through the diaphragm when you have a chest x-ray conducted. I suggest you talk to your doctor and have the x-ray done.
