I have a wisteria in my back yard, it has not bloomed the last two years. Any ideas as to why?

I bought my house three years ago, and the wisteria was out of control, It was in the neighbors' trees and the arbor it was on was leaning. I trimmed it back and put a new metal arbor under it. I knew it wouldn't bloom the next year as I have heard that it blooms on old growth. Well It grew quite a bit that first year. I really expected to have blooms this year, but nothing! Do you think it might need feeding and if so do I use a general type plant food?

The most probable cause for the la ck of blooming in the wisteria plant may be the kind of fertilizer that you are using. Avoid using heavy nitrogen fertilizers around the plant roots. See more details at http://www.gardensalive.com/article.asp?ai=822.
