When a dog licks it's own woond does it realy help heal it?

Report as

Dear rockstar321894, have you ever been told that wounds or cuts in your mouth heal faster than anywhere else on your body? This is a true fact. Saliva helps the wound heal faster, and Researchers at the University of Amsterdam did a test and found out that saliva helps heal wounds 30% faster. I'm pretty sure that if you have ever cut your finger, the first thing you did was put it in your mouth. It helps a lot more than you would think, huh?

I hope this helped! (:

Yes it does because a dog has one of the cleanest mouths if all animals so it's saliva helps to disinfect it and stuff

In some ways, yes. It will remove any dirt that is in the wound and also gets rid of some bacteria due to their saliva. I'm not 100% sure though. It might make it worse by opening the wound again.
