What do I put on my lip piercing if it is infected?

Woke up this morning & found out there was yellow puss coming out of my piercing. Anything that can help it go away fast that would be great! Thanks! :)

Do not use hydrogen peroxide as it will damage the swollen tissue. Grab a cup and fill it up half cup of warm water and a teaspoon of salt, stir it up and then swish it around your mouth and kinda wash the piercing area with the salt water. It will cleanse the infected area, but If there's pus I think you also should talk to a doctor and your piercer.

Disinfect it with alcohol or if you aren't very pain tolerant ( but I'd assume you are pain tolerant if you have a lip piercing in the first place), then clean out the piercing with hydrogen peroxide. I honestly doubt you will have to see a doctor.

i was told by the man who pierced my lips that alcohol or peroxide is a no no that you should NOT use that on your piercings. and every website i have been on say the same thing that they damage the skin around the piercing and prevent proper healing.

If it keeps getting infected you may have to just take it out for good. My body doesn't handle piercings that good so I've been down that road.

AmyV has the ultimate answer. I would only add make sure you're not allergic to the metal your lipring is made of. My daughter experienced this and discovered that although she could wear any earrings, has to wear only sterling silver in lip.

Take it out now and consult a doctor because it could be infected or you are allergic to the silver
