i might do jail time ? i need help please! im 15

ok so i got arrested for robbery in ny with a weapon that was illegal weapon. it was a knife and im currently in criminal court but they plan on switching me to family court but maybe not. so my question is what what will they do with a 15 year old in criminal court or if i get switch to in family court ! thank you so much whoever replies !

i didnt do it but my friend robbed someone and i before i could runaway the cops stoped us and i had a knife in my bag. i just had it for safty.

I had a friend who did the same but he was just put on the watch list for the store , but it really depends where you live. Cause it's different like everywhere . Not much help but yehh

they may blame your parents for them not paying attention to there 15 year old which may lead you straight to family court anyways......GOOD LUCK!

In criminal court you will be treated as an adult. Family court will treat you as a juvenile. Adult sentences a stricter and if you are convicted, it will stay with you for life. Hopefully you have a clean record up to this point and a decent lawyer, to get down to family court. Then if convicted, it will be seal when you turn 18.

they may have u do counseling, or house arrest, community service. see it as a good sign that it went to family court. why counseling? because of your age they want to stop you in your tracks of bad behavior before it gets more serious. when children are misbehaving, it's usually because problems at home.
remember this FEAR, and stays outta trouble girl!!

What was the felony charges ? aggravated robbery or what -- robbery is one felony - robbery with a weapon is another aggravated assault with a deadly weapon . .. both are violent . how much was your bond ? so you also had a knife that was too long to carry

The best thing for you to do regardless is learn a lesson. You must learn to control your emotions and desires as you age. You want to live a long, full life and not be controlled by individual moments or people.

We ALL have done bad things but you will have far more long term enjoyment if you learn to control and master yourself.

This WILL pass. Don't let other bad things take it's place.

I hope you learned a lesson from all this. There's an old saying been around a long time "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time". I don't know what will happen. If you'll do time or get away with probation. I just hope you don't get away with it just to do it again. I really hope you learned a lesson from this.

I would say that you need to go to juvenile hall for your punishment.don't make a excuse for your age to try to get out of trouble when you commit a crime.grow up and take your punishment as a young woman.

If this is your first offense they may charge you with robbery, carrying an illegal weapon and if it gets turned over to family court you may still be sentenced to a juvenile facility for 45 days to a year depending on the judge and if you have been in trouble before. This may also get turned into counseling for you or community service.

Will your parents hire a lawyer regarding your case. you will under juvenile law and you are supposed to have a special punishment like rehabilitation. Ask your parents to have a good lawyer before transferring you to another court: Source: http://www.ledgerlaw.com
