How long does it take for sea monkeys to hatch?

I got a sea monkey kit and I put the eggs in 3 days ago and I still don't see any yet! It said they hatch instantly?

Ah the Sea Monkeys, hard to believe that they're still being sold. I had a few kits like 40 years ago. Did you follow the directions to the letter. Did you wait the full 24 hours before adding packet No. 2? If not set it aside & let it sit for another 24 hours. Did you use the correct amount of water? If you failed to use exactly 10 ozs. of water it will add another day. Did you accidentally add packets No. 1 and No. 2 at the same time? If so it might take an additional day or 2. Check the water temp. 68 to 80 degrees is what you want. Remember these are tiny, a good magnifying glass & plenty of light might show you what you're missing. If you're looking for things that look like the pictures don't, the moms hair never looks that good & dad usually swims off to hang out, drink beer and watch ball games.

I followed all the directions but they are at a temperature around 65-70 and it said 2-4 days and today's the 4th day.

Okay, relax. I bought my first kit about 42 years ago. Since then I swapped the monkeys for human children. The sea monkeys are far easier to maintain, they eat & drink far less, are never late for anything, are clean to a fault, never complain about having to eat their vegetables. Ok, any factor that in the directions that you didn't follow to the letter will cause the length of time to change, most "oops" can be fixed. The best "fix" is to leave it alone. It's a marvel of science, mother nature knows what she's doing. Check out this website http://www.sea-monkey.com/html/aboutsm/whatarethey.html it should answer all of your ?--I think I might read it, good luck

Yea if you live in a cold climate, you've gotta turn up da heat!! =P But anyway, you probably just have to wait a little.

It takes a day or 2 for you to see those sea monkeys hatch. However, if you really want to see them small turn off all the light and light a flashlight, point it to the tank and you might see some sea monkeys swimming.

Oh wow! I was just looking at those! I've always wanted them! My parents wouldn't get them! When I was a kid they were brand new! I might get some even though I'm old now!
Let us know how they do!

Yep, I didn't dress them, they had their own clothes, duh. Actually I didn't know how much Rosie knew, nor her age, or even if she is a she. She could have been a 5 yr. old on the site (yes I know the 13 yr. old age--BS, I was born at night but it wasn't last night. Some folks here are either 7 or boasting a 70 IQ) Anyway, it was a legitimate ?, to be nice, not dash any hopes & to try to help-I answered the same way as if 1 of my kids had asked about Santa-sorry Bubbs in the future I'll give nothing but stract answers when I see your name,
