If you eat honey or pollen native to your state daily for about two to three months before allergy season, it acts as a natural antihistamine - like getting a vaccine.

This is exactly what our Pediatrician told us to do with our two boys. Your best places to look for locally bottled honey are the farmers markets, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Fresh and Easy Market. It will tell you whether or not the honey is local right on the label, just look to see where it was bottled. This is the best way to avoid severe allergies.

To treat seasonal allergies without medication, you should avoid dairy products like milk and cream and iced drinks as well. Other things you need to do about your diet are to eliminate sugar from your diet and processed foods. You should use a solution of warm water and salt to clear a running nose.

believe it or not, drinking lots of water helps wonders. when i was younger, my parents changed our eating habits and etc. before we changed i had to take allergy medications. after that i havent got sick at all and i stopped with the allergy meds. water works wonders and allergies is one of the things it helps!

real honey. Put some on some crackers or eat a peanut butter and honey sandwich or buy the plain Cheerios and put REAL honey on them. It works amazing i have always had horrible allergies and this really works. Hope it helps you 2! Have a nice day

Clearly, you can't avoid the outdoors, that's just crazy! But, you can do one of the following. 1.Use a netty pot - The thing that you use to flush out your sinuses, that looks like a teapot. It kinda hurts and feels/looks weird, especially if you have had bad nasal allergies, but it does clean out your nose and flushes away the histamines.
2. Like one of your commentors suggested: Use a ion cleaner - this will remove or catch most of the allergens that hang around in the air.
3. Use a moist air humidfier - This is what will help you moisten your nasal passages and keep your sinuses moistened. A lot of allergies happen when your nasal passages are dry. TRUST ME, VETERAN SINUS SUFFERER!!!! Bonus: It's also FANTASTIC for your skin!

Yellow flowering forsythia was giving me worse allergies each spring until this year. My allergy to it this spring completely stopped after a few initial sneezes. Now I can stand right next to it with no reaction. I think I had an iodine/iodide deficiency. I have been supplementing with low-dose iodine/iodide for other reasons. (However, I am very careful not to get too much.) It's critical to get adequate selenium (but not too much) with iodine/iodide. There are a few other nutritional compliments, as well, which are included in multivitamins. The RDA for iodine is set very low and most folks get less than that. The average Japanese diet contains 5 to 13 mg of iodine daily in the form of seaweed and seafood. In the average American diet the chloride in iodized salt cancels the effect of the iodine. Bromide also interferes with iodide. (Commercial baked goods have been made with bromide instead of iodide since the RDA was set so low in the 1980's.)
(I have not had any honey for years, do not limit dairy products, always drank plenty of water, took omega-3 oils for years with no apparent effect on that allergy. Drank well water for decades having no fluoride, & no coffee enemas.)

The road to true health from what is typically found will come as something challenging and difficult. Lifestyle addictions are often nearly impossible for most to change because they lack the will and self confidence to do so.

Eliminating all toxins from your environment, bathing and drinking in water free of fluoride and the huge number of toxins commonly found in tap or city water, drinking large amounts of organic freshly made juice, eating organic fruits and vegetables, taking part in some form of oxygen therapy and maybe considering doing daily saunas and coffee enemas all will radically improve your health and allow from dramatic healing and detoxification to occur if practiced for a long period of time. If you do this, ideas like allergies will no longer be a concern for you, along with a high majority of health issues most people suffer.

Just curious...what do you have against medication? Some of them work quite well.
Not to suggest that you should overdo it, or take medication frivolously, but whenallergies are ruining your day, some really do the trick without drowsiness or side effects. Claritan D rocks when you want to forget you have an allergy. (But I respect your wishes to remain 100% holistic.)

The allergies belong to my 6 yr old and while I know medication is necessary sometimes, I like to try to avoid it if there is an alternative. Being so young, I'd like her to find natural answers to the problems for the coming years. But thank you, I appreciate your open minded-ness!
