How do you get herpes

If you are sexually active it is important to get tested, especially if you have different partners. But if your partner has it and manages it correctly then there is a low risk of transmission. I had a relationship for 5 years with someone who was infected but the person managed it well and we were very cautious. Don't write someone off because they have it. After the 5 year relationship I still don't have it. I get tested for it once a year even though I have a regular thing with someone who doesn't have it either. It is theorized that some people are immune to it but that is just a theory. Even with a condom someone can pass it along if they have an outbreak. But if they are taking the drugs then you are pretty safe.

You can get the infection orally especially when engaging in oral sex. Being a sexually transmitted disease, you can also get it from sexual intercourse with an infected person. You can find more from this link http://www.herpes-coldsores.com/contracting_herpes.htm.

You can get herpes by having unprotected vaginal, anal, or oral sex. You could also get it by having oral sex with someone who has had cold sores.
