I'm blind and I'm doing a project. What stereotypes have you heard about blind people? I don't care what they are!

Amazingly- people tend to speak loudly when talking to a blind person as if being blind also affected their hearing. Or maybe they think that if they yell the blind person will be able to see?!

Most people look down on people who are blind as incapable of not being able to achieve anything. They believe that the blind are people who are totally dependant on others.

I've always heard that if a person looses their vision their other senses (smell, hearing, etc) get better.

Only that blind people are helpless.
