Mom needs to unplug the video game, and quit feeding him. Tell him he can stay as long as he is looking for work.
Or do what my grandmother did when she didn't like what one of her 4 sons were doing. Put their clothes in a suit case and throw it out on the front lawn and tell they couldn't come back until they straighten up.
Did he work when he was 16? If he didn't, this could have started the whole chain of effect. Go tell her to sell his tv, games and gaming systems. Hand him a news paper with jobs and apartments along with the money. Tell him that the start of being a MAN! Go get a job and a place of his own. Tough love!
