A tour guide is usually responsible for people on a package trip. They have to keep track of everyone in their group and take care of hotel accomodations, group meal reservations, comps from casinos, etc. A tourist guide usually gives a short tour of a historical area or tourist attraction.

A tour guide is a person while a tourist guide is a book or pamphlet.
