Yes, protein does rebuild muscles after workouts. Whenever you are workout you are tear down muscles and also rebuild them, protein is usually important to rebuild as well as repair the muscles. You may consider taking some protein supplements I have seen them help. For more information you may visit http://www.powersupplements.com/protein.htm.

Try "Pure Protein" drinks/bars. They are loaded protein & low in sugar. Great protein supplement.

Yes, if you lift weights or are an athlete and have your body under pressure and stress alot you should consume more protein then your avarage Joe or couch potato. Protein is used by your body for almost everything, hair, nails, skin, and the list goes on and on. That's why you have to take more then your avarage Joe, because your body will use up alot of protein on things that keep you alive and alot of other things before it directs the protein to be used for muscle protein synthesis. For example you eat a 4oz of chicken weighing in at 25 grams of protein, your body might use up 20 grams of that protein for other functions before it starts to use the rest for rebuilding your torn muscle tissue and muscle fibers, so in this situation you would only be giving your muscles about 5 grams of protein to work with.
