If you are arrested in the US but you aren't a citizen, are you still protected by the Miranda rights? Can you still plead the fifth?
I am in eighth grade and I am studying the constitution for the constitution test. My mom and I were discussing the fifth amendment, and we had just been discussing the law about illegal immigrants in Arizona, and I asked if you were still protected by the fifth if you aren't a citizen. It always says, "You're rights AS A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and I was wondering what happens if you aren't.
