In what ways was WWII the same as WwI? How was it different?

~ America fought in the war but joined late
~ Germany started the war
~ Italy and Germany were on the original axis powers in both wars
~ Britain and France were on the original allied powers in both wars
~ Germany broke treaty's in both wars
~ Trench Warfare
~ Advantages in technology
~ The U.S rebuilt the devastated countries (even their enemies)
~ Hitler had something to do with the armies in both wars
~ The U.S joined because they were forced into the war by other countries
~ The axis powers (bad guys) lost both wars
~ treaty's were made at the end of both wars to attempt to keep world peace, the 1st treaty (fourteen points) obviously failed

Germany was forced to admit fault for both wars, but wasn't responsible for WWI.

The war started between Serbia and Austria-Hungary. Everyone else was allied with someone who had already entered the war.

He is "right" in saying a war started between the two countries mentioned but not on the statement "ww1 was started by Austria-Hungary" is inaccurate.

There is no set day WW1 started, this is because most countries joined the war at different dates.

No, I am correct. A teenager assassinated Archduke Franz Fernadad, the heir of the Austria-Hungarian throne. While he was not popular, the country was still out raged, the terrorist group responsible was linked to Serbia and Austria-Hungary issued an Ultimatium, giving Serbia 24 hours to respond. Serbia agreed except for they would not permit Austria-Hungarian officials to investigate within Serbia. So, Austria-Hungary declared war. The war escalated as more countries entered.

However, after the war, the Treaty of Versailles forced Germany to admit fault and pay all war reparations.

well in some ways the same people fought like Germany. Also the places they fought. Some of the differences could be the weaponry the tactics who was fighting and why.

The same's: the Germans were the enemies and the Americans were the good guys in both wars, we beat the Germans in both wars and they both had Thompson in both wars.

Differences: ww1 is when tanks and fully automatic guns first began along with the first modern snipers. Ww2 is when America becomes the strongest nation in the world and becomes a superpower. We free'd the Jews in that war and the Japanese empire was involved In that war.

Germany lost WWI because the US threw enough troops at Germany to turn the tide of the German advances into France. Russia was not involved in WWI very long as it was dealing with the Russian Revolution. Germany lost enough men that it lost the will to fight, however, there was no massive invasion of Germany to end the war. Instead France insisted on humiliating terms to Germany which caused German resentment and led to WWII.

Germany lost WWII because it wasted too many men and resources invading the Soviet Union unsuccessfully, thereby creating a 3 front war that it could not win (the other fronts were in North Africa and France/the UK). The loss for Germany was total with Berlin being invaded and Germany being split up to avoid it causing another war.
