Yes!!! Yes it matters! Wtf?
If your too lazy to separate your clothes, your light colored clothing ends up dingy looking, you look like an idiot.
I don't have money to keep buying new clothes just because I didn't feel like separating them. I think even someone who has a lot of money would like to hold on to it by not wasting it. That's just me though, call me crazy.

True true Former. Valid point :)

I pulled a shirt out that had ink stains because I left my pen in my pants pocket. I just tossed it in my drawer and declared it my lazy day shirt.

Hello

The laundry does not have to be separated before being washed. The most important thing is the end result. If the laundry is clean at the end of the day, there is no problem it was not separated before being washed.

Not really but it helps to separate the white clothes from colors so you don't get them mixing together

Haha no but it helps not to lose socks and really reduces the amount of lint on your clothes but at the end of the we do not care

I do not mind washing lights with darks. my only two rules are-
1. I would never wash a white shirt with a brand new Red or Black shirt.
2. As long as the white article of clothing question is not a dress shirt or all white w/high thread count.

Not at all as long as its separated from colors and whites.
Wait then why did I say "not at all".... Ok maybe a little but that's just me.

Sort of. I don't worry about separating colors usually. When I buy a new dark item I wash it separately or with other dark at least 2 times. What I do separate is my dress shirts. They usually say to wash in cold water, gentle cycle, and tumble dry low.

Even though I'm a girl, I want to answer this. I would care if clothes are separated cause if you mix black and white clothes, you get gray socks, or shirts, or shorts, and faded black clothes.

Not in the slightest... the idea that all your clothes have to be washed separately is just a ploy to make you buy more laundry detergent, and fabric softeners... Don't want your clothes to run? Wash them all on cold. (Red and white is the exception, not the rule.) I am always hearing how blue jeans make your whites look dingey. Can't see it, and if it does... bleach your whites. POOF... problem solved. :)
