Why are grassland biomes considered "transition" biomes?

Report as

Grassland biomes are considered "transition" biomes because their environment is bound to change very easily as a result of certain natural changes like temperature. For example, when the temperature increases, the grassland transitions to desert and precipitation is altered in the process.
