Whats the best way to get rid of mice?

In the past week and a half we have been finding little mice poops around the house. on the kitchen counter, under the sink, on top of the fridge, and even in our closet where we keep our shoes(theres not even any food in there!) I've laid down spring traps under the sink where theres a hole from the washing machine (where we assume theyre coming from). anyone have suggestions as to what to do? we have to small children and we need to get this f-ers before they reproduce.

You can buy electronic mouse repellers at the hardware store,they emit a high pitch squeal that drives them nuts but you can't hear it and there made by the "Victor" people that make the standard mouse traps.

Get a cat. Other methods such as traps or poison will kill mice but new mice will continue to move in. But once they see a predator, i.e. cat, living in the area, they will clear out in favor of safer housing.
