How did industrial revolution impact world war 1?

The Industrial Revolution brought new technology, which gave way to superior weaponry. Battle strategies had to change so as to counter these massive and strong weapons and this had an effect on the war. More soldiers died than if the war had started before the revolution.

It allowed the invention of rapid fire machine guns, more effective artillery, it gave us airplanes (aeroplanes as they used to call it haha) bigger and more powerful ships, and this new thing called the "tank".

Many miles of railroads were laid which were used to transport war supplies, the invention of the tank, artillery, and machine guns. WW1 was the first war to use automobiles for transportation of troops.
