Well, yes, from our point of view, it's true, but ... (there's always a but!) ... but really the earth is rotating on its axis as it revolves around the sun so it appears to rise in the east and set in the west.
Actually, this is literally true. In the morning the sun is always rising in the east. And it always sets in the west. However if your near the north or south poles it usually is always in the sky depending what season. Hope this helps!
This is not literally true. The earth rotates all the time, as well as revolving around the sun. As it rotates, the east meets the sun first, then the more western parts of the country. This is why we have time zones. The Eastern Time Zone sees the sun first, then the Central, then the Mountain, then Pacific.
