Why are 'The Hunger Games' books so popular? (and the other two) read description!

I read through the first book, and was forced through the second and third, honestly, I hated it, I didn't like the writing style, the characters annoy me, and the plot, in some ways, is stupid (SORRY) and when I ask my friends why they like it they just say 'BECAUSE IT'S THE BEST SERIES ON THE PLANET' (btw, they said the same thing for Twilight and HP, of which, I both also hate) so could I have someone use logical sense and help me understand why these series are popular?

Well a lot of people like the style that Suzanne Collins used in writing her books, but we all have different opinions. Maybe you didn't like the books because you were forced to read them? If you had read them by choice I'm sure you may have had a different view of them. I honestly thought they were amazing :) But I agree with you on twilight and Harry potter.

Twilight not so much for me. But Harry Potter and The hunger games are EXTREMELY popular. Lots of people read them. If you were forced you probably wouldn't enjoy it. I was like that with Harry Potter at first. And I ended up loving it when I read it on my own.
