When people are going through a crisis why can't some people lay aside there differences and reach out in love. Why are their hearts so hard

I believe strongly that in some cases race believes and social status should be laid aside when it comes to showing love toward people who are truly hurting because of some devastating tragedy that life has dealt them. I also strongly affirm that our love and bowels of compassion should cause us to be color blind and not see a white or black or red or yellow person but a human being that needs another human being in need.

During times of crisis, it is inhuman to do discrimination when you are trying to help with the situation; hence, such people have mean and inhumane hearts. In a calamity like the tsunami or terrorist attack, you cannot go to the site and only start saving people from your race, belief or social class. Humanity dictates that, in such desperate times discrimination should be put aside.

I agree to a point. I think race should be put aside EvERY TIME. In every situation/drama/experience. Race, sexuality, age & all sorts of things shouldn't even BE an issue, unfortunately it is though & it makes me sad :(

Agreed, the "disease of thick headness" is over taking the world.Helping others is a dying art.I'm guessing they feel as though they shouldn't help because no one would help them if roles where reversed.Especially in a race situation, this is 2012 right!

I think it's because people are selfish. They only care about themselves and it becomes evident in times of 'crisis' because you see that they don't care about the people going through the crisis due to their race/sex/and whatever.

God is Love and we all have that love in us. It is a matter of choice to choose to love and care for our fellow man and or woman . Most choose to be selfish and not show a caring bone that they may have in their body. Prophet Muhammad says that when we help each other we are doing the same for Him. So it is a choice more of us just need to decide to choose to spread the love. Have a good day all . With the Love of God spreading all around!
