White blood cells (leukocytes) are infection and virus fighters. A count above 10.0 is high, so you have a slight infection. There are different types of leukocytes. Blood testing can determine increase in which type to determine if you have a virus, a new infection, or an old infection.
11.0 WBC count means that one would be considered to have a mild to moderate case of leucocytosis. White blood cells protect the body against any infection. They attack and destroy the virus or bacteria causing the infection.
