What does "fear is a liar" mean?

Fear is a liar is a phrase which is used to mean that if you stick to your fears, you will be tempted to think that you can never perform. However, after throwing the fears away and getting yourself engaged, you get to realize your capabilities.

Fear can be a very controlling force and if we let it, it will determine our lives. All of us have told ourselves we can't do something that we were perfectly capable of doing simply because we were afraid. We don't fully apply ourselves because of the fear or failure, fear of rejection, fear of change....
