Would it be arson if you tried to light a sprinkler system in a building?

Someone locked up , lights sprinkler so doors will open.

No but there would be several other charges that would be just as bad or worse. Attempted escape( probably why he wants the doors to open) destruction of public property from the water damage. I'm sure there's some felony charge they will stick on you for doing it in a state or federal jail. You're probably looking at 10 years minimum for a stunt like that.

you mean just set off the smoke alarm? no thats not arson, might make them angry though. if you actually set the building on fire though thats arson.
