Accidentally ran a stop sign(no camera). Can I get ticket if no police present?

No close call with anyone, but at least 10 people around to see my car stop half way in intersection. Besides a youtube video from a cellphone or off-duty policeman, can I be given a ticket in the mail?

If a traffic Police officer witnessed you running a stop sign, video footage of the infraction is not a prerequisite to give you a ticket. As a diligent citizen, you pay any tickets that you may get in the mail pertaining to the incident.

you could be reported by the public and possibly receive a summons to appear to answer the complaint, but the citizen would have to swear to the complaint and appear in court too. my dad used to "i'll stop twice at the next one". in reality, an officer or the court or law in good standing in that county, township, proper, etc,typically would have to cite you then giving you the opportunity to appear and plead. if you did stop, just not in the designated spot, you did not fail to observe a traffic control devise but did not have control of your vehicle. i wouldn't panic. some signs are overgrown with tree limbs and are defensible.

no. u will not be given a ticket in mail. if someone went to police station and said "I saw someone run a stop sign, I have their plate number" the cops would laugh and say " please, we got real business to deal with". don't worry about it, you silly!
