The price of gold currently in the news is measured in price per kilogram as well as the price per gram. Whenever the United States Dollar appreciates, it takes smaller number of dollars to purchase any commodity which is priced in $USD.

Gold prices are listed by troy ounce. A 1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 grams.
