If a computer repairer fixes my computer and I deleted all the history, will it still show websites I visited?

you'd better delete the cache files (internet temporary files if IE) and passwords too. A better way to do so is to use a rubbish cleaner like CCleaner.

And for email, if you're using outlook, search .pst and copy it to a portable harddrive and then delete all them all. If you're using thunderbird or other email program, find the corresponding email storage location, backup and delete the profile. After all the deleting, remember to clean the recycle bin too.

Hmmm.

However, the answer is yes. If you want to visit sites that you'd rather keep to yourself (I guess we're talking about Justin Bieber fan sites here, or perhaps you don't want anybody to find out that you're a closet Republican) you should use Private Browsing. Add a comment if you don't know what that is and let us know which browser you're using.

A lot of paedophiles have been caught because computer technicians have found child porn on their hard drives and have turned them in.

Well, grasshopper, the fact you asked this question means that you got problems if you're taking that love machine in for repair.

If you've been going where the law might be interested, you shoud 1) get professional help for whatever that problem is, and 2) throw that hard drive in the pond.

And that's more advice than I feel like giving ....
