Is it possible to leave the state with my children without having to go through the legal stuff? When the other parent doesnt see/support?

I've been waiting 7 months on legal assistance for help with filing for custody and to file a petition for relocation and at the end of it they basically told me i need to do everything on my own. Wasted time. The father doesn't give support in any way and hasn't seen his children for about 7 months now. He thrives on trying to make my life hell even though he's out partying and living his life doing whatever he wants, including gang banging. I just want to leave. I have job interviews waiting for me and if I go through the courts now it will only take longer and i will lose out on a lot of career opportunities that have me set up for me. Please help! I don't know what to do!

If you leave the state, he could retaliate and then you would become a fugitive. You would loose your mother right. a lawyer would advise you better but try putting a restraining order against him. Then take all your legal action from there. remember who ever take the first steps is usually the one on top. good luck. but defiantly contact a lawyer.

Some law's suck royally lol. I was just hoping there was some kind of loophole or something because at this point, i cannot afford an attorney, I'm a struggling single mother of 3 getting no support at all... Its just frustrating that I have to deal with this when I have so much ahead to look forward to with my kids for a better life and i've been pretty patient for so long. Thank you for you're response

You would be surprise how much support you could get from court. even more because there are kids involved in the middle of all these. You should try it..?

Actually I was just at our child support hearing almost 2 months ago (which he didnt show up) and because they listed him as having no income even though he works, they are having him pay for two almost just as much as my other sons father for my oldest. Its pretty sad. But I still havent received a dime.

Unless you have a court order, it may be impossible to leave the country with your children, without notifying the other spouse. I would suggest that you get in touch with a lawyer, who is in a better position to explain all you need to know regarding this.

I attempted to go through legal assistance because i cannot afford an attorney at this time. Its very complicated. But I just wanted to see if there was any other way around it. And I wasnt planning on leaving the country, just a few states away... :) Thank you for your response though.

Might be big mistake, if he wanted to cause you grief he could get you arrested. Google getting tax refunds from deadbeat parents. You can take his for non payment, and also prevent him from getting his plates at DMV.

Yes I just recently put him on child support and he didnt even show up for that. He has stolen SSC's of my children and used them for his taxes once before and I have gotten the IRS on him for that. It just sucks i have to put my life on pause because hes a deadbeat. Ugh- such a pain. thank you for your response.
