You can use something else besides treats to reward a dog. For example, if your dog has a favorite toy use it as a reward for good behavior. Also most dogs strive to please their owners so often just praise and attention works well as a reward.

You can easily train your dog even if it does not like treats by making sure the dog is actually hungry before starting your training session. The best time to perform a quick training session is during the morning session before the dog is fed. Visit a vet for more professional information.

there is probably some type of treat that he will eat, maybe try some strong meaty flavored treats?

if your dog does not like dog treats, then you can use simple food that we eat everyday. i give my dog chicken and their favorite treat is raw steak.

If he/she does not like treats, try giving him/her toys to reward him/her with! If not, give them a firm, "Good dog." and give them a rub or pat.

Well that question is a little bit of a contradiction, seeing as a treat is just something desirable to who/what's receiving it. Find something your dog *does* like, then you're golden.

when I was learning to train dogs my instructor told us to never use food.....he put it like this...what if you want your dog to do something and you had no treat ?.....instead I was taught that affection is the best way to train a dog.....all dogs thrive on the affection/contact with their owners....a ' good doggie ' in a happy tone of voice and petting and/or scratching your dog in it's favorite place works wonders......and the ' Bad dog ' in a stern tone of voice and not touching it will make more of an impression than a treat of any kind....for a mild form of punishment to reinforce the ' bad dog ' was to lightly pinch the dogs ear....it doesn't really hurt the dog but will get it's attention that you are displeased.....you also have to think like the dog and for most people that is the hard part....I have used this way to train my dogs and they mind well and are happy friendly dogs....each dog is different tho so keep that in mind too

If your dog loves it when you give it love/attention, then give it love/attention as a reward.
