A light in my car has turned on/lit up that says "ABS", what does that mean and should I be concerned?

it's on the dash in the upper right hand corner near the check engine light, I'm assuming by the initials it has to do with the anti lock breaks, what would of caused this light to be on and what does it mean exactly?

It means there is a problem with your AntiLock Braking System (ABS) and you need to take the car in and have it checked out. Make sure to take it to a shop that works on ABS, not all of them do.

The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) light is basically a warning to inform you of low oil volume, wearing of seat belt and an indication of a possible problem or issue with your ABS system. You should consider taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic since diagnosing an ABS braking system problem would be very difficult.

Get your brakes checked right away. The light is a warning that they could fail. Your car may be unsafe to drive, so please don't put off getting them checked.
