How do I text my friend from my computer?

Go to yahoomail and write your friend's number. Include his phone carrier. Example: 0000000000@verizon.net

Email their phone number or have them text your email. It's pretty cool.

There are lots of websites where you can send a text to someone's cellphone from a computer for free. Some of the websites you need to register and some may only let you send a certain amount of text messages per day.
