If you wrap a water line in fiberglass insulation and bury it in the ground, will it prevent it from freezing?

We are trying to trench from our house to our barn and we are going to dig is by hand, (approx 2 feet deep). We live in the Northeast so the frost usually gets down that low. We are looking for ways to prevent the line from freezing without going down to 4 feet.

Never did it with a buried pipe but we did use a wrap(non electric) we found at the local home depot that you wrap around pipes under your house in a crawl space and it kept them from freezing.

The fiberglass insulation will get soaked with water and lose its ability to insulate.
There is closed cell foam insulation that would work better underground.

You need to put it below the frost line about 52" down
