See, the thing is, many people believe that their religion is the only right and true religion. So they think everyone who believes different is wrong, and need to be shown the right path.
it annoys the heck out of me as well

And, though America promotes religious freedom, that doesn't mean all of its people do the same.

you can convert them they're wrong. It's the main word "random" here.

Internet is a good place to discuss religion, they can't tie you up and burn you here.

I don't think religion regulation here, at least I have seen difference of religion opinion here. But what surprise me is the moderator don't have a united ethical standard, it's just random and not objective at all.

Well it's still under freedom of speech. Some people try to teach others their religion because if it's their belief. N probably they believe the other religions are wrong and they are trying to save them I guess. Hope this answers your question.

I don't try to convert but remember what "freedom of religion" is even about. It is mention to keep the government out of the individuals choice of religion to practice, or none at all. In "the old country," people were forced by the government to practice the religion dictated the populous to practice.
