Do MALE cows have utters?

Just curious. I think they don't but I'm not sure. Isn't utters for producing MILK to feed CALF'S?

Male cattle have nipples... but they do not form UDDERS. And even cows can have horns, that has nothing to do with gender, but with breed. Really, people, if you don't know, don't answer.

You go girl! I hate when people just answer anything! Why, why, why do they answer questions they know nothing about??
It's my pet peeve, can you tell? :-)

Sheesh, ya think? I just came back in after giving the young steers some hay, and the whole time I was out there I just kept thinking, "you critters have no idea how lucky you are that you belong here and not to some of the users on Ask," lol.

I love it when they get called on it. The worst ones are the "answerers" who use huge, convoluted phrases to hide the fact that they have not one clue about what they are speaking!

Or the ones who know nothing about the question, but look it up on the net and then they act like experts! Know what I mean?

Yep, in fact we were discussing those types in here last night. I posted a Q after the answers to this Q brought the topic to mind. Quite a lively discussion ensued, and a good time was had by all, lol!

A male of the cattle species is called a bull. A cow is the female. Therefore there are no male cows. Horns are not indicative of male or female but of the breed.

No, only the females have udders. The males do not need udders to feed the calves. The females take care of that.

Cow are divided by sex into Herefords and bulls. Herefords are the female cows and Bull the males. Since cows are classified as mammals, both the male and female have nipples. However, when a Hereford goes into milk production her nipples (or teets as some call them) get swollen and mature to form an udder. This is because her mammary gland finished its last stages of maturity. On a side note, in theory because any type of male mammal also has mammary glands (which produce milk) which are not fully developed, with proper stimulation and hormonal regulation a male mammal can also produce milk. Here is a video of a man who breast fed his children, but be warned there is some non sexual nudity http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIHVL08hWqQ
