Can a guy that hits females ever stop hurting them & if so how?

A guy that hits a woman or girl, is not a man. It is not likely he will ever be a man. So, no he will not stop hurting them.

And the idiocy of saying the woman is somehow at fault because she crossed the line or did something to make him angry is total BS. There is no excuse for a guy to hit a woman, ever. No matter what the woman may have done, the entire fault is with the little weasel that hit her. And I can't say it enough, any male that hits a woman is no man, and never will be.

thank you. that is what I thought and how i feel. My friend said a man can stop beating a woman if he wants to. I really don't believe that was true.I was always told a man that hits you doesn't really love you or care.

That is right. If he loved and cared about you he wouldn't hit you in the first place.

A guy that hits females can stop hurting them. This can only be done through cooperation between the spouses. If the female doesn't cross the line or do something that will make him angry then , there will be no fighting or hurting.

You are absolutely right Sunshine. Any male that hits a woman is no man. And blaming the woman for it, is just one more sign that he is just a sniveling little weasel.

You can't guarantee that his woman will not make him mad but he need to man up, walk away, and later when he cool then come back to talk about that's how a man handles that. If a man hit a woman he is a punk, straight up, and i can bet you he want take that noise to another man in the street. ~punk

I think your thoughts are a little messed up. I don't think a female should have to tiptoe around causes you never know when he'll flip out.and it might have nothing to do with her.

A man has no right to ever hit a women! If he can not control himself it is his problem! The women needs to get away as far a possible. You can not change him or love him more to make him stop! It is proven most men that hit once hit twice three times etc!

Well if he hits women then he's not a "man" to begin with, but yes, he can get his butt kicked by a girl's Dad and maybe get some sense into him.

A guy can stop but usually this means separating from each other while he learns how to correctly handle his anger issues, and that part should be handled by a counselor whom is experienced in this field.

Therapy. He needs to work on himself and figure out why he chooses violence over all of the other options out there in dealing with issues.

I have a friend that says her man will change. I don't think it can be done. I don't see how a guy that wasn't raised with parents fighting and beating each other. Can end up starting to hit a female and think its ok. Most woman raise with mothers that were beat end up being beat themself. Just like guys that hit learned from their dad it was ok to beat a woman. I want to know if he can change or if it will be and endless battle for her

Optimist: counseling, conversation, love, and all that jazz. Living a life keeping your fingers crossed.
Pessimist: She's probably a ... and starts it and he is to ignorant to use his words. No one changes. They deserve each other.
Realist: He needs to get knocked around by someone bigger to give him some perspective. While he is in the hospital do some soul searching. She needs to find out why she is attracted to someone that treats her wrong and stop putting up with that crap.

He can stop but he has to first recognize he has problems, then through counseling/therapy he can get his issues worked out, while he is in counseling i would suggest the woman and him live in separate quarters.If this is happening now, or to someone you know the woman needs to be strong too and stop subjecting herself to that women die every day from that, stop holding on to that Maybe..... thought. Stop being reminiscent of the way things use to be, there is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR HIS BEHAVIOR PERIOD. She is better than this, and deserves freedom(but not through death). Call the cops and press charges, no matter if kids are involved, money etc. Because she deserves her life. Sorry its extra, but im pro-happy life.
