What's the difference between a Pine Tree, and a White Pine?

I got a White Pine From School and my dad wants to know what's the difference I think its the bark or inside of the trunk.

Pine tree is a general classification for a wide range of trees. There are many many different species of pine trees. White pine is one of these species.

Its really simple regular pine is yellow wood and white pine is white wood. I like using white pine on ceilings. I hand pick them and lumber company when i buy it. and then i use a clear urethane
