If I do have a hernia, what will happen if i just let it go untreated?

My doctor told me the first visit that i did not have a hernia then the other day i went back and all he did was say its a hernia. He did nothing. And honestly i do not think it is a hernia, but he said so. So i wanna know what will happen if i just let it go and it is one. It is right under my belly button.

The more and more you ignore it the more the intestine will stick out and be pinched by your abdominal muscle and it will hurt more than you can imagine. I'm talking drop to the floor pain. I had a medium hernia and wow it Was terrible pain. I had to have surgery. But if you are unsure I suggest a doctor second opinion.

Ok, yes i am very unsure because it hurts just laying around and picking things up and moving around makes it feel no better or worse and you can only feel it when i am laying on my back but now my belly is getting bigger but not just right where the spot it the whole thing is.
