You could get a tribal tattoo. The single most requested tattoo design. The most popular tribal designs are Maori, Haida and Polynesian designs. There is also great interest in Native American tattoo designs. The term "tribal" of course covers an astonishing array of tattoo design possibilities, from the traditional tribal tattoos of indigenous and aboriginal cultures, to the latest in graphic design for the body. You could also get an angel tattoo. Angel tattoo designs have become increasingly popular; an angel is a symbol of devotion, spirituality and faith and signifies a relationship with God. An angel can be intended as a figure of guidance and protection. An angel is often used as the centerpiece of a tattoo that is intended as a memorial. Tattoos of wings are great too. As tattoos, the wing design is often infused with inspirational or spiritual significance -- the angel motif for instance, a symbol of guidance and protection. For those who dream of soaring the skies like a bird, the wing symbol takes on the feathery aspect of a bird. As a tattoo design it can reflect the power of the eagle or the lightness of the butterfly. Popular with both men and women. :)
In my opinion, a good tattoo idea is one of your face, name or your best animal. As for the face and name, it would show that you believe in yourself. Ensure that your best animal represents something like perseverance and patient among others.
HYDRA!! The Hydra symbol is awesome! Having no interest in comic books and knowing nothing about Captain America that Isn't in The Avengers/Captain America movies, I think it is the most beautiful & bad A** symbol I've ever seen! :)
I tend to agree with Lorie1120 If you're not sure then, wait until it's obvious. In the meantime; 1. Don't make this decision when under the influence. 2. Once you decide what exactly you want tattooed, wait a year. If you still want it ...go for it. 3. If a year sounds like a long time to wait, imagine how long forever is to have a tattoo you end up not wanting!
I'm drawn to the idea of getting a tattoo that would serve a function (ie. a ruler) or as a reference (ie. Periodic table). In my opinion, a good tattoo idea is one of your face, name or your best animal. http://www.piercingsupplies.com.au/
Don't get one! Imagine if you had been allowed to get a tattoo when you were three. I would have wanted a pink glittery unicorn on my cheek. Now i would hate it! That's what it will be like in 20 years if you get a tattoo now!
Deciding on your first tattoo can be a very frightening experience for anybody. And of course getting it done is a very scary thing to go through.
Body art can be absolutely breathtaking! Just about anything you can do on canvas or paper can be done in a tattoo. That's the good part. The bad part is that not everything that looks good on paper translates into a great tattoo. Every medium has its strengths and weaknesses, tattooing is no exception. A tattoo is unique because you have to consider things such as: body placement, skin color, close & distant viewpoints, and aging.
