How to get out of trouble? Please read description

i spent the night at my friends and we snuck downstairs and she went on her moms tablet and I played on my ipod this morning her mom thought I was sleeping so she yelled at my friend and said when I wake up I have to go home how do I stay out of trouble

Just tell the truth then you both can stay and be friends you should say we're sorry and we didn't know I just wook up early and I didnt know what to do.
