Do I have to give my husband half?

My father bought a house for me, which I paid off last year. The home is solely in my name, though I was married. My husband abandoned me 4 years ago. I finished paying off the house last year. Since I am not divorced, is there anything that says I cannot sell the house and keep it all to myself?

If his name is not on the title, then it is yours to do with as you please.

As long as you are the only one on the title you certainly can sell it and keep all proceeds yourself.

You can only give your husband the chance to have half ownership of the house you inherited if his name is on the “title deed.” However, even after divorce the house remains under your ownership if it’s only your name that is in the “title deed.”
