I have a mole that's raised and half light/half dark. It grew on my hip last summer. Could this be melanoma? Or maybe just a regular mole?

It would be a good idea to have this looked at by your doctor and to have it done soon. One of the hallmarks of melanoma is inconsistent coloration, but that doesn't mean this is for sure a melanoma. However, this form of skin cancer can be very serious. It can be quite successfully treated if it's caught early enough. See your doctor.

There is a high chance that the mole is melanoma. Any change in color, size or fill of a mole is a sign of melanoma. This is especially the case if one half of the mole does not match the other half. You should see a doctor for better diagnosis and treatment.
