A cyst of that size should be removed, and probably by keyhole surgery ... which means that if there's someone to look after you for a couple of days, at home, then you will be out of the hospital within 24 hours. I would regard that cyst as large for someone aged 20, and would want to be sure of regular follow-up visits for a few months, to catch any other cysts before they got to that size.

Hi, Dia - sorry, long delay, but I was just cruising my answers to answer comments. You'll have to ask a specialist doctor ... I am a neurosurgeon by trade, so it's not my field. I would still prefer to remove it, myself, and have a good look round while I was in there. Anyway, good luck with your decision and your health.

Thank you for replying....its ok....I did go to the doctor and he said in 90% of th cases it will shrink by using oral contraceptives and asked me to come after 6 months...if it does not shrink or becomes bigger he will remove it by surgery....and I actually wanted to ask something else too....after Mbbs do you know what should be taken up to become an oncologist and in case if I want to become a neurosurgeon what will I have to do after MBBS?

This would depend on the level the disease is in. Getting a thorough check up would be the best way to know the right diagnostic method to use. Visit a doctor for more information.
