He cannot press any charges, if the girl is your girlfriend. However, he can if the girl says that you assaulted her. I would advise you to talk it out with your girlfriend and find a way to cope with the situation.

Yes you will be very happy together, don't let anyone put you down about it, a lot of people do say a lot of junk.
I was planning on having a baby at 15 but it didn't happen till I was about 17.

You can not get charged if the girl was willing to have sex with you and if I'm not mistaken because your still under age but, be carefull her parents might try to brain wash her so yes I also advise you to talk to her without her parents knowing. Her parents need to get over the fact that whats done is done no going back, they need to let you be a man and take care of the situation you and your girlfriend caused. I'm not saying that what both of you did was right but, its done and your gonna be a papi ( daddy ).

actually he can b/c she is below the age of consent of 16. your parents and hers need to talk NOW!!!!!!!AND A TRIP TO THE LAWYER WOULD BE PRUDENT. TAKE HER WITH YOU.some states call it statutory rape depending on age and you could get prosecuted. get a lawyer now and see her parents with yours so you can keep tempers in check and he can't belittle you or berate you. don't go alone he may call the cops and they might take you. set up an appointment with her folks and yours and keep it. write down questions you have too.make sure you are given the time to speak and answer and ask. after all, she was there too.if you are prosecuted, you will have a sexual predator rap and have to register as a sexual offender.there really isn't a defense for this other than stupidity.but that is not a viable defense in court. get help now.

lived a lot of years and seen a lot of friends go through mountains of stuff my friend.they should think of having an open adoption where they can see the baby grow up and aren't forced into marriage. they would be angels on earth for the person who could adopt. i have a dear friend who can't have kids after two tragic losses and would love a baby. what a miracle they could give.God bless.

Rules are different for every state

yes they are, that is why you need a lawyer.to protect your freedom and rights to the child if she decides to keep it.

If you are over 18 (legal adult), you would have committed statutory rape on a minor under 16 years old; however, if you are indeed the 17 you claim to be, then you are not a legal adult and a different rule applies, called Romeo & Juliet, meaning you're both close in age and less than adult, no charges...you should still worry about the dad though...if you'd knocked up my daughter, I'd expect you to marry her and raise the baby...dad would probably be glad to help!

You are in trouble even if the baby does not live. You had sex with someone under 16. No question...get married or get ready to be beat in jail.

You yourself are still considered under the legal age so no charges, but talk things out with yours and her parents!!

As long as she was willing to have intercourse then he cannot press charges. However if the girl says you assaulted her in anyway then he can easily press charges. Talk with your gf and make sure she truly loves you and is ok with her baby.

Depends on the state. Have you tried to have a rational conversation with him? Ask him why would he want his grandchild's father to be in jail rather than helping raise the child?
