Does the tundra typically have extremely tall vegetation, mostly conifers?

Tundra does not typically have tall vegetation but is characterized by dwarf shrubs, mosses and lichens and sedges and grasses. It occurs at high attitude and occupies high mountains, slopes and ridges above timberline. Visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tundra for more details.
