How to mount cast iron to a wall to use as a backsplash

Report as

Sicaflex 11FC
It's a polyurethane sealant/adhesive.
It will bond the cast iron to almost anything.

You can start by measuring the sink area, for the backsplash to blend with the wall. Cut the portion of your cabinet to set the sink in place, measure the sink's depth to brace strips on all sides, put the sink into place and ensure it fits. Next, add the silicon sealer and place the sink in the silicone. Lastly, put the water and outlet supply lines.

I am wanting to use a 65 lb fireback as the focus for my backsplash I see pictures of others using this same item, but have been unable to find any "how to's" it is about 24 ' wide and 22" tall about 1' thick

Wow, that's heavy. As others have said, the appropriate adhesive will hold your fireback in place. Just make sure that the wall that you are going to put it on is very secure to the studs. It wouldn't hurt to put some extra screws in the drywall to ensure that the weight of the fireback will not pull the drywall off of the studs. Make sure that you support it while the adhesive is curing, which could take quite a few days.

PL in the yellow tube with the polyurethane in it will stick to anything and has a good work time. Be careful. It does expand slightly during the drying process.
